KONE Equipping 236 VT Units For Zhengzhou Line

KONE has won an order to supply 236 vertical-transportation (VT) units operating on the Zhengzhou metro line between the Zhengzhou airport and the city of Xuchang, China, the company announces. Referring to its project, KONE says it is supplying its suite of People Flow® solutions for the transit line from Zhengzhou and ending at the east station of Jian’an District. The line travels for more than 35 km and connects through 16 underground stations, including five transfer stations. The KONE VT includes 195 TransitMaster™ escalators, four TransitMaster moving walks and 37 MonoSpace® elevators. In addition, the contract includes two years of standard maintenance. The developer is Zhengzhou Metro Group Co. Ltd. The main architects are Zhengzhou Rail Transit Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. KONE booked the order in the second quarter of 2021.
