KONE has named Penpisith Chunprom as its new managing director (MD) for Thailand. Chunprom assumed his new role in July from Edward Loy, who continues as MD for Southeast Asia. Based in Bangkok, Chunprom is charged with driving strategic and commercial goals across Thailand and in the region’s emerging markets of Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. Chunprom has more than 25 years’ management experience at various technology and industrial multinational companies. He handled diverse portfolios in KONE’s service and installation business in Thailand between 2009 and 2017. Prior to rejoining KONE, Chunprom was Indochina director for Service and Projects at a U.S.-based corporation in Bangkok. Most recently, he managed KONE’s New Building Solutions sales team in Thailand, playing a major role in expanding the company’s local footprint. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering and a Master’s of Business Administration.
