KONE to Supply 53 Elevators for Office Tower In India

KONE has won an order to supply 53 elevators for Commerz III, a 50-story, premium commercial tower under development in Mumbai, India, the company announced on September 9. The order includes 42 of KONE’s MiniSpace® and 11 MonoSpace® elevators that will travel 223 m at speeds of up to 6 m/s. The vertical-transportation system will employ KONE’s Destination Control System with turnstile integration, which will reduce waiting and traveling times while avoiding crowding for the daily use of about 13,000 people, and will also use the KONE E-Link™ service for on-site equipment monitoring. The contract includes one year of standard maintenance. Commerz III, targeting LEED green building certification, is being developed by Oberoi Realty Ltd., with Capacite Infra as the main contractor and design by architect Woods Bagot. The tower is rising in the International Business Park in Oberoi Garden City, home to previous building projects Commerz and Commerz II. The project is expected to wrap up by the end of 2022.
