LECS UK, a leading independent lift and escalator engineering consultancy, has announced its expansion into the Middle East with the official launch of LECS UAE, based in Dubai. LECS CEO Dave Cooper said the move follows years of successful operation in the region on a semi-remote basis, with a recent surge in demand related to large-scale modernization projects. This, in turn, has resulted in demand for comprehensive site surveys. Established in 1991, LECS UK will continue to operate in the U.K. market from offices in London, Manchester and East Sussex. With a number of projects underway, Dubai-based LECS UAE will serve the wider Middle East region. Employing only U.K. Engineering Council- and European Federation of National Engineering Associations-registered engineers for all advisory operations, LECS UK and LECS UAE specialize in moving people and goods by lift, escalator, cable car, funicular, crane and platform lift. The firms also advise on most forms of mechanical handling equipment, taking projects from concept to commissioning.
