Lödige Industries Debuts Automation Module for Lift and Robots

On February 1, Germany’s Lödige Industries introduced a new automation module that allows both automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots to interact with different lift systems to move up to 20 mT of total weight vertically. The company observed available space for storage and distribution is scarce and, therefore, expensive, resulting in a trend toward multistory production and warehouse buildings. This trend is already well-established in China and is on the rise in Europe, promising to drive demand for “automatic integration solution technology” for goods lifts such as that offered by Lödige Industries. The new automation module is compatible with Lödige’s Sherpa and Escorta goods lifts, and additional capabilities are coming soon. “Especially in combination with our Olympus goods lifts, completely new possibilities arise for our customers in the heavy load range of up to 20 mT or more,” Lödige Chief Product Officer Tobias Wennekemp said.
