KONE has been awarded a contract that includes 31 elevators and three escalators for developer Mirvac’s 60,000-m2, 232-m-tall 55 Pitt Street in Sydney, KONE Australia Customer Solutions Engineer-Major Projects Arjun Gupta announced on LinkedIn. Another “exciting feature,” he said, is that, for the first time in New South Wales, KONE UltraRope® will be used on the mid-rise, high-rise and Sky Rise elevators. The installation will also mark the first 10 m/s KONE elevators in the Sydney CBD. The order includes six low-rise, five mid-rise and eight high-rise lifts running at 8 m/s; six, 10 m/s Sky Rise lifts; and two goods lifts with a travel distance of 238 m. 55 Pitt Street boasts a design by Sydney’s Woods Bagot and NYC’s SHoP Architects that includes lots of natural light, views of Sydney Harbour and flexible workspace.
