The elevator and escalator (E&E) division of Mitsubishi Electric U.S., Inc., headquartered in Cypress, California, has opened a Miami office, the company announced on March 29. Miami has the third-tallest skyline in the U.S., and is a “natural fit” for Mitsubishi Electric, which has a proven track record in multifamily, retail, hospitality and commercial vertical-transportation (VT) projects. The company observed its aim is to provide smooth, quiet and safe VT combined with quality, durability and reliability. Technicians service both the OEM’s own equipment — including the world’s only spiral escalator — and that of competitors. “The decision to expand our presence in Miami is a logical step in our business growth strategy,” Mike Eden, director, Eastern Region, Mitsubishi Electric, U.S., E&E Division, said. “With over 300 high rises, Miami is an ideal location for [us].”
