PT Mitsubishi Jaya Elevator and Escalator (MJEE), the Indonesian division of Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions Corp., has been selected to provide 55 vertical-transportation (VT) units — 33 elevators and 22 escalators — to Phase 1 of the Indonesia New Capital Relocation Project, MJEE announced on February 26. The national capital is moving from Jakarta to a new city called Nusantara on the east coast of the island of Borneo. The government has set a target date of 2045 for complete relocation, with several government functions set to relocate this year. Manufactured by Mitsubishi Elevator Asia Co., Ltd., of Thailand, the MJEE VT equipment will serve the Indonesian Presidential Palace, the Presidential Office, the Presidential Secretariat Office and the Office of the Ministry of the State Secretariat. The equipment will boast elevator and escalator monitoring and control systems, as well as touchless operation.
