Modern Elevator Innovations, with locations in Burlington, Canada, and NYC, has been acquired by ATTA Elevators Corp., a full-service elevator and escalator company headquartered in Concord, Canada, the companies announced on May 10. Modern becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of ATTA and will continue to operate independently. Jeff Brown, Nikki Brown, Mahyar Pedram and Jim Brown continue to lead the operations and growth strategy of Modern Elevator, as well as the integration of Modern into the ATTA family. Jeff Brown remains president of Modern Elevator, reporting to ATTA Elevator founder and CEO Mark Attanasio. Pedram remains chief operating officer of Modern Elevator, leading the day-to-day manufacturing and design operations. Jim Brown continues to manage manufacturing fabrication and production, and Nikki Brown oversees all marketing for ATTA and Modern, as well as Modern’s business development. The companies said the acquisition will provide an increased ability to service institutional customers and real estate developers; enhanced customer service capabilities with the advantage of a “made in Canada” nonproprietary product offering for new construction; and a robust two-year pipeline of new construction projects. In addition to numerous projects in the Toronto area and beyond, Modern has handled many in the U.S., including in NYC.
