The Kearney County Board of Commissioners accepted a bid from Schindler for the modernization of an elevator at the county’s courthouse, The Minden Courier reports. Bids for the project in Minden, Nebraska, were opened during the December 5 regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, and Schindler was the only company to respond. Schindler’s bid totaled US$223,427 and included an optional addition of cabin updates for US$14,000. The bid received conditional approval, despite some board members expressing their concern about receiving only one bid. The board discussed plans for access to the second and third floors of the courthouse during the time the elevator will be down for repairs.
