New Elevators, Escalators And More For Indian Railway Stations

Indian Member of Parliament (MP) Mohan Kundariya on January 9 inaugurated three escalators and one elevator at Rajkot Railway Station in the western Indian state of Gujarat, making it the first in the Saurashtra region to have such amenities, The Indian EXPRESS reports. Two escalators serve platform 1, one is between platforms 2 and 3 and a 20-person-capacity elevator is between platforms 2 and 3. Elsewhere in Gujarat, the MP also inaugurated four elevators at the Wankaner Railway Station, as well as a new coach-indicator system and new water-tank-refilling system, according to a press release by the Rajkot division of Western Railway.
