New Escalators at Two Bengaluru, India Railway Stations

The Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V Somanna recently unveiled new escalators at KSR Bengaluru and Kengeri Railway Stations, Hans India reports. Two new escalators, one for upward movement and one for downward movement, have been installed at Platform 1 of KSR Bengaluru Station, which will connect all 10 of the stations’ platforms. One escalator has been installed at Platform 1 at Kengeri Railway Station, connecting platforms one to four through a foot overbridge. The inauguration event at Kengeri Railway Station also had Minister of State for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje in attendance. At the event, V Somanna said the escalators “will largely benefit passengers, particularly the elderly and differently abled.”
