New Platform Aims To Democratize Elevator Design Access

Themis Stamatiou, MSc

In a move to democratize access to elevator designs, Themis Stamatiou, MSc, a seasoned industrial designer and elevator production manager, has launched Elevator Plans. This new platform aims to connect micro-manufacturers and freelancers with a supply of high-quality and production ready elevator plans, previously accessible only through extensive time and financial investment. Elevator Plans addresses the industry’s pressing challenge of high costs and long development times associated with elevator manufacturing. Typically, a new elevator could cost between EUR/US$50,000 to EUR/US$150,000 and take six to 12 months from conception to market launch. Elevator Plans removes these barriers by offering ready-to-use designs at a fraction of the cost and time. “The elevator plans available on our platform are the culmination of countless hours dedicated to designing for manufacturability,” Stamatiou said. “Whether you are an industrial designer or a manufacturer in the elevator space, these resources are designed to get you to market faster and more profitably.”
