According to the source, CHO spent US$2.5 million to fully replace the old escalators. A CHO Authority public notice from May 2021 said the work was awarded to Schindler. CHO spokesman Melinda Crawford tells WHSV 3 the escalators had not been replaced since the airport was built in the early 1990s, and that no flights were affected by the work.
