Nidec Drives Appoints Babaud as President

Nidec Drives, with global headquarters (HQ) in Kyoto, Japan, and Americas HQ in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, recently announced it appointed Laurent Babaud as president. Based in Bois-Colombes, France, Babaud has more than three decades’ experience in motors and drives at Nidec. He has led the European sales network for Leroy-Somer and Control Techniques, served as president of SSB Wind Systems and, most recently, led Nidec Conversion’s global sales, marketing and Europe operations. Nidec Motion Platform President Anthony Pickering said he is “convinced Babaud has the passion, enthusiasm and tenacity required to lead the Nidec Drives business forward, driving new phases of growth and long-term development.” Babaud said he is proud to lead the “incredible team” at Nidec Drives in driving growth and innovation.
