Otis China and the China Soon Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) announced a partnership on April 7 to advance career prospects for girls and women in China by supporting education and innovation related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Otis and CSCLF, a non-government organization with more than 40 years’ experience in developing youth programs and supporting women, will offer scholarships to outstanding female STEM-focused university students, as well as STEM innovation programs for youth, some of which will be led by Otis volunteers. Otis’ partnership with CSCLF is in line with the OEM’s People & Communities ESG, or Environmental, Social and Governance, goals that include impacting 15,000 students globally through STEM-focused programs by 2030 and dedicating 500,000 cumulative volunteer hours to support communities, STEM education and social equity initiatives by 2030. “We are proud to partner with CSCLF to develop and inspire the next generation of innovators,” said Otis Chair, CEO and President Judy Marks, who met with the director of the CSCFL funding department and toured a CSCLF “youth innovation zone” while in China.
