Otis has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EVCo to convert its fleet vehicles in Singapore to Electric Vehicles (EVs), Otis announced earlier this month. Based in Singapore, EVCo is a joint venture company between Strides Mobility and DST Electric Vehicle Rental (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. An initial group of Otis Singapore vehicles have already been converted to EVs, and the company plans to convert its full fleet to EV by 2024. Under the MoU, both parties will also work together to build a digital operations platform allowing users to utilize data and achieve effective operations through route optimization and preventive maintenance on the vehicles. “It is an honor to work with EVCo, a pioneer in end-to-end electric- and mobility-as-a-service solutions, because they share our vision for a more sustainable future through greener technology,” Otis Southeast Asia Managing Director Grant Mooney said. As part of its Environmental, Social and Governance goals, Otis has committed to reducing its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 40% globally by 2030.
