Otis will install 18 vertical-transportation (VT) units — 17 elevators and one platform lift — at the Ellison Institute of Technologies (EIT) Oxford Interdisciplinary Research and Development campus in Oxford, U.K. Scheduled for completion in 2027, it will incorporate more than 30,000 m2 of research laboratory space and oncology and preventive-care clinic, as well as educational and gathering spaces. EIT said its new facility will support its partnership with the University of Oxford and become the new home for Ellison Scholars. Located in Oxford’s Littlemore parish, the facility will “create the perfect environment for EIT experts to take groundbreaking ideas from research to broad implementation,” EIT observed.
