A California woman has created the Elevator Emergency Kit, or E.E.K., a comprehensive emergency kit designed to assist those trapped in an elevator for extended time periods. The kit is stored in a small box mounted to an elevator wall for easy access when needed. Each kit includes water, food, first aid items, a flashlight, a power bank and other emergency and situational items. The creator filed her utility patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is working closely with InventionHome, an invention licensing firm, to sell or license the patent rights to her E.E.K. product.
