Plans Submitted for Tower to Join Leeds Tower Cluster

U.K.-based Glenn Howells Architects has submitted plans to add a 45-story hexagonal tower to an emerging cluster of tall buildings in central Leeds, U.K., Building Design reports. The Wellington Square development would provide 464 build-to-rent apartments in the tower and more than 40,000 m2 of office space in two neighboring 14- and 15-story blocks. The plans, designed for McLaren Group and lodged with the city council on February 13, would be located on the western side of the city center close to where the Leeds Inner Ring Road crosses the River Aire. Also on the project team is planning consultant ID Planning, structural and civil engineer Meinhardt, landscape architect Reform, MEP engineer Atelier 10, acoustic and fire engineer Cundall and transport consultant Fore Consulting.
