Poland’s CPK To Award Tender for 500-Plus Units for New Airport
Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK), a Polish state-owned entity responsible for delivering strategic national transport infrastructure, announced on September 29 it is seeking a contractor to design, supply, install and commission more than 500 transportation units at the upcoming CPK Airport. These will include elevators, escalators and moving walks to enhance accessibility in both airside and landside areas. This will be one of the largest airport tenders of its kind in recent years, CPK observed: Istanbul, Türkiye, has 661 such transportation units, King Abdulaziz Airport in Saudi Arabia has 532, while China’s Pudong and Jiangbei airports have 358 and 296, respectively. Construction of the CPK Airport passenger terminal is expected to commence in 2026 with the airport set to become operational by the end of 2032. It will be located Baranów, in the Mazovian Voivodeship, approximately 40 km west of Warsaw. CPK expects to award a contract for the transportation units by November 2026.
