At least two elevator collapses have occurred in Pakistan in the past few weeks, one resulting in a fatality, Pakistan Today reports. The fatality occurred on February 15 when a woman who had just given birth was wheeled on a stretcher into an elevator at a private hospital in Karimabad. The elevator fell, “resulting in her immediate death,” the source says. In the most recent incident, four people, including two women, were injured when a lift fell in a residential area of Clifton, Karachi, on February 20.
