Renderings for a revised 29-story mixed-use development on 1130 North State Street in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago have been released, Chicago YIMBY reported in July. The updated proposal includes 304 rental units and approximately 10,000 ft2 of ground-floor retail space. The building is being developed by Newcastle Ltd. and designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz. This is the second revision of the proposal after the original was scrapped a year ago. If approvals are granted, demolition of the vacant Barnes & Noble store onsite will take place in the spring of 2022, and construction is expected to be complete by early 2024.
