Vertical-transportation (VT) company Schindler has won a major contract to build and install elevators and escalators for a monorail system in Egypt, Switzerland Global Enterprise is among news production companies that released the project in February. From its manufacturing facility in Lucerne, Switzerland, Schindler will build 136 elevators and 272 escalators for the Cairo Monorail. The new transit system will carry riders between Egypt’s New Administrative Capital and the eastern districts of Cairo.
