A safety awareness campaign titled “Ride safely with Schindler” and showcasing the importance of safety when using elevators, escalators and travellators organized by Schindler Liftec Sdn Bhd was launched at The Mall, Gadong in Brunei, the Borneo Bulletin reports. A Schindler official said that children are susceptible to accidents on elevators and escalators, and the number of accidents has increased in neighboring countries, especially with the lifting of movement restrictions post-pandemic. The event’s goal was to educate children through fun-filled activities, such as mini games, coloring contests and general knowledge education on the spot. The event is part of Schindler Liftec’s commitment to ensure the public, especially children, understand how to ride safely on escalators and elevators and understand the dangers and how to prevent accidents from happening, as well as for all users to understand the signage on all the equipment and to follow it accordingly. Safety, Health and Environment National Authority Assistant Director Haji Nor Yasmin bin Haji Mohd Noor was the guest of honor and officiated the event.
