Santander International Lift City (SILC) 2022 is planned by IMEM Ascensores on September 28-30 at various noteworthy sites — including an art gallery, two palaces and a nature reserve — in Santander, capital of the Cantabria region on Spain’s north coast. The event is set to kick off with an official welcome from local authorities, breakfast and presentations on current lift sector innovations and trends on September 28 at Centro Botín, an art gallery designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano. Presentations will continue at Palacio de la Magdalena, “the most iconic building in the city of Santander and one of the most outstanding examples of civil architecture in northern Spain.” A day dedicated to digital transformation in the lift industry, September 29 will feature presentations at Palacio de las Fraguas, built in 1840. On September 30, attendees will have the opportunity to visit one of the most important nature reserves in Cantabria, an old mining area where more than 120 different animal species live.
