Nine people were injured after an elevator at a hotel in Sector 49 of Noida, India, malfunctioned and fell from the third floor to the ground floor, ABP Live reports. According to officials, the accident was due to overloading. Six people sustained minor injuries while three suffered bone fractures. Those injured were taken to the hospital, and the incident is being investigated. Additionally, a similar incident took place at a Greater Noida society in Uttar Pradesh earlier in the week when an elevator fell from the ground floor to the basement with eight members of a family inside. The family members were not injured, according to officials, but were stuck inside the elevator for nearly 2 h.
