Prince Albert II of Monaco inaugurated six new escalators and a new Monabike electric bike share service in Beausoleil, France, just over the border from the Principality of Monaco, Monaco Daily News is among outlets to report. The Monégasque and French governments cooperated on the project, involving both the first Monabike station in France and the escalators connecting the market at the edge of the Principality to the Riviera Palace at the top of Beausoleil. Prince Albert II was joined by dignitaries including Municipality of Beausoleil Mayor Gérard Spinelli. The source observed the six bike station escalators bring the total number of area escalators financed by the Principality to 10. Without the latest six escalators, visitors would have to scale more than 450 steps to reach Beausoleil’s peak.
