Suspect In TTC Elevator Damage Arrested, Units Back In Service

A suspect has been arrested in connection with vandalism to 11 Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway station elevators, Global News was among outlets to report on December 27. It was previously reported on December 21, by outlets including City News, that 10 elevators had been damaged, making three completely inaccessible. Another vandalized elevator was later discovered. Custom glass panels on the sides of the elevators were damaged, complicating the repair process since the components are custom-made. However, Global News said that all elevators were back in service late last week due to “temporary fixes that included the use of plywood.”
