Teen Dies as a Result of Elevator Mishap in Mumbai

A 16-year-old girl sustained head injuries that resulted in her death in late October, the result of sticking her head through a glassless window of a lift door in the eastern Mumbai, India, suburb of Mankhurd, Hindustan Times is among outlets to report. The girl was in an elevator on the fifth floor of her grandmother’s flat in a seven-story Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) property playing hide-and-seek with her brothers and cousins when another lift descended from the seventh floor and hit her in the head. She passed away at a hospital. Local authorities are looking into criminal charges against the SRA society, in light of residents requesting the window be covered with glass and that never happening.
