TfL Concerned About HS2 Euston Station Design In London

Transport for London (TfL) has raised “several concerns” about HS2 Ltd.’s latest designs for London’s Euston Station, one of the stations serving the new HS2 high-speed railway that will form the backbone of Britain’s transport network, New Civil Engineer reports. The concerns center around uncertainty that current designs would meet Euston’s “operational requirements.” TfL previously sought assurances that work would include a new bus station and new entrance for the proposed Crossrail 2 railway. In October 2021, HS2 Ltd. confirmed it had scaled back the number of platforms at Euston from 11 to 10. An HS2 Ltd. spokesperson emphasized that designs are in the early stages: “Our designs for the new HS2 station at Euston, including improved connections with the London Underground, are at concept stage and we are seeking feedback from. . .stakeholders.” TKE Elevator recently inked an agreement to provide nearly 300 vertical-transportation units to HS2.
