Three people almost drowned when they were trapped in an apartment elevator filled with water on August 7 in Omaha, Nebraska, the New York Post was among outlets to report. The group was taking the lift around 10 p.m. to observe the damage caused by hail and flash floods in Omaha when they got stuck on the ground floor and water from the lobby began flooding the elevator. A video taken by one of the passengers shows water up to their necks while they call emergency services. They were able to pry the elevator doors open and escape before first responders arrived. Four others were reportedly stuck in another elevator in the same building, but no one from either incident required medical treatment.
