TK Elevator (TKE) has opened an International Technical Service (ITS) center in Pune, Maharashtra, India, the 11th location globally since launching the centers 25 years ago, the OEM announced on March 1. ITS technicians provide technical expertise in the maintenance of elevators, escalators and moving walks of various manufacturers, and are able to maintain and repair even the most complex systems. At all centers, technicians use high-tech simulators to analyze products of competitors and develop innovative maintenance solutions. In addition, they advise any TKE service technicians who need support for complex maintenance processes. ITS technology includes glasses with an augmented reality function that enables service technicians to contact ITS from a customer’s site. The glasses virtually show the exact view of the service technician, enabling the ITS expert to provide precise instructions on how to repair a product. ITS support is provided to approximately 24,000 TKE service technicians, including help with the repair of spare parts — even those no longer manufactured. In addition to Pune, ITS centers operate on five continents in Atlanta; Toronto; São Paulo; Madrid; Manchester, U.K.; Stuttgart, Germany; Moscow; Dubai; Shanghai; and Sydney.
