The Pizzuti Companies and general contractor Power Construction held a topping-out ceremony on August 31 at Coppia in Chicago, Illinois. Coppia, Pizzuti’s first multi-family development in the city, is located at the southern end of the West Loop’s Aberdeen Street. Translated as “couple,” Coppia is named for the geometric figures on the building’s façade split by contracting glass. The project totals 315,000 ft2 and stands 226 ft tall, with 19 floors and 298 one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Fine art by emerging and established artists will complement the architecture as part of Pizzuti’s commitment to “Living with Art.” Pizzuti told ELEVATOR WORLD that the development will be served by energy-efficient TK Elevator evolution 200 units. Village Green will provide property management services, and Goettsch Partners are the design architects for the new development. Completion by Power Construction is expected in 2024.
