Two NYC Elevator Men Honored as “Leaders Of Labor”

NYC elevator men Don Gelestino of Champion Elevator Corp. and Mark Gregorio of TEI Group are among four individuals being honored by Schneps Media, publisher of various NYC-area publications, as “Leaders of Labor.” They, along with fellow honorees Vijay Dandapani, president and CEO of the Hotel Association of NYC, and labor attorney Tanya N. Blocker, are to be honored during a gala event at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows on September 9. Leading more than 200 employees, Gelestino is president and CEO of Champion and has more than 34 years in the elevator industry. He is active in charity and is a National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) board member. Gregorio is president of TEI, which has more than 300 employees. He entered the industry at age 22 as an apprentice, and is a member of several trade organizations, including NAEC and the National Elevator Industry, Inc.
