In the late morning of November 13, one of the steps at the top of an upward-moving escalator serving the Chai Wan MTR station at the eastern terminus of the Island Line became “out of line and damaged, with metal scraps flying everywhere.” That incident is believed to have been the result of a passenger’s sweater becoming stuck between the steps.
