UKCA Transition Period Extended to End of 2024

The transition period for lifts and components to have the U.K. Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking instead of the CE marking in Great Britain (excluding Ireland) has been extended until December 31, 2024, Liftinstituut recently announced. The CE and reversed epsilon marking, originally set to phase out by December 31 of this year, can now be used through the end of 2024. Concerning legislation is expected to be published by the end of this year. TÃœV SÃœD has been accredited to carry out the new certification by the U.K. Accreditation Service.
