Upcoming Elevator U Webinars
Elevator U, an organization that supports and encourages the exchange of ideas and information relative to vertical transportation in academic facilities, invites all members, potential members and industry suppliers to register to attend its upcoming webinars, designed to provide information that you can use on the job.
- The first presentation in the series, “Elevator Design Specification Guidelines” by Kevin Morse and Dale Hughes of Elevator Logic, LLC, is on March 23 from 9-10 a.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT). It will cover design criteria established by building and safety code for proper application of elevator types, fire alarm and fire protection, emergency power systems, electrical branch circuits, hoistway pit entrapment protection and more.
- The second is “Peelle Door Safety and Applications” by Mike Ryan of The Peelle Co. on April 20 from 1-2 p.m. CDT. Ryan will take an in-depth look at the Peelle vertical slide freight elevator door. ASME vertical door hazard zones will be defined, and Ryan will explain how Peelle addresses these hazard zones. He will speak on how vertical doors differ from horizontal doors, including the top six differentiators and the various types and applications of Peelle vertical slide doors.
- The third webinar is “Understanding and Minimizing Risk Associated with Cab Interior Work” by Bobby Haskett of FabACab on May 18 at 10-11 a.m. CDT. Haskett plans to provide education about the many different types of cab shells, existing conditions found in cabs, preplanning to ensure proper order and installation of a new interior, common installation issues and how to address them and how different materials affect the longevity of a cab interior.
