Vertical-transportation (VT) companies that exhibited at the 2024 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference on Architecture & Design (AIA24) on June 5-8 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., included Otis, Schindler, SnapCab, TK Elevator and VDA, Inc. Bringing in more than 15,000 attendees, the event gave VT companies the opportunity to showcase their offerings, including Schindler’s MetaCore, a system that enables one elevator group to “serve multiple applications — such as residential, office, or hospitality — while delivering a bespoke transport experience for each passenger group,” according to Schindler. AIA observes the annual AIA24 “fuses together industries, identities, skills, styles and values to establish a new multidisciplinary understanding of today’s most pressing issues.”
