Elevators and escalators on Istanbul’s Metrobus line are being renewed, RaillyNews reports. In 2007 when the line opened, the vertical transportation (VT) was put into service quickly and many do not have certificates. The first scope of the renovation process includes 18 elevators and 10 escalators. So far, 14 of the elevators have been renewed and certified and labeled, and the renovation of five of the escalators has been completed. Elevators have been completely renewed at Halıcıoğlu platform, İBB Social Facilities south and north, Avcılar south and north, Cihangir south, Mustafa Kemal Paşa south, Haramidere north, Cumhuriyet south, Saadetdere north, Güzelyurt platform, Beykent platform, Şükrübey north and Beylikdüzü south. Beykent platform and south, Beylikdüzü platform and south and Avcılar platform escalators have also been renewed. The remaining elevators and escalators on the 44-station Metrobus line will also be completely renewed in the future.
