Australia’s Western Sydney University is taking applications for its new Graduate Certificate in Vertical Transportation (VT) post-graduate program, Lift Engineering Society of Australia reported recently. The program covers design best practices, traffic analysis and legislative obligations of VT designers. It is designed to complement the recent Australian legislative changes regarding good design practices and designer accountability. It is intended for graduates seeking to expand and focus their qualifications; VT manufacturers, suppliers, designers and consultants; and any lift industry member seeking to add a specific qualification to their resume. Integrating the disciplines of mechanical and electrical engineering, the course provides specialist knowledge to plan, design, install, assess and maintain VT systems. Currently available in a part-time, 18-month format, the course will be offered in a full-time, 12-month format starting in fall 2023. Additional information can be found here.
