Work Begins On Fifteen Fifteen Construction In Vancouver

Fifteen Fifteen, a residential apartment tower planned in Vancouver, Canada, is now under construction, New Atlas reports. Unveiled in 2017, the blocky high-rise tower, at 1515 Alberni Street and designed by Büro Ole Scheeren, will stand 42 stories, though the actual height has not yet been reported. Originally listed at 48 stories, Fifteen Fifteen will be defined by large cantilevering making the building look somewhat like the popular table game Jenga. The plan calls for 202 residences ranging from studio apartments to three-bedroom homes, as well as so-called “Observatory Residences” that are situated within the jutting-out boxes and offer superb views. There will also be penthouse suites at the top of the tower, and one of the cantilevering boxes will be used to host a residents’ lounge. The building’s interior decor will consist of wooden floors and ceilings, with generous glazing and high-end appliances. The least-expensive units start at about CAD900,000 (US$717,000). Developers Bosa Properties and Kingswood Properties first mentioned the project in 2015. Completion is scheduled for 2026.
