Worker Killed in Philadelphia Elevator Accident

A worker at a commercial warehouse in South Philadelphia fell down an elevator shaft and died on November 24, The Washington Times is among outlets to report. The 48-year-old man, who has not been named by authorities, fell 20 ft down the shaft and suffered a head injury. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. The building is under renovation, according to WCAU, a Philadelphia NBC affiliate. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, a spokesman for the city’s Department of Licensing and Inspections told The Philadelphia Inquirer.
