Wurtec Leads Creation of National Elevator Mechanics Day

On behalf of Toledo, Ohio-headquartered vertical-transportation (VT) tools and components supplier Wurtec, Marketing Associate David Steingass announced National Day Archives has approved Wurtec’s application to annually recognize National Elevator Mechanics Day on May 19. Steingass, who wrote a Readers’ Platform piece set to run in the April 2025 issue of ELEVATOR WORLD, said during his time at Wurtec he developed an “unshakable sense of solidarity” with the VT mechanics who undergo intensive training, put in long hours and navigate jobsite dangers while taking pride in their work and developing a spirit of camaraderie. Wurtec plans to host National Elevator Mechanics Day festivities at all branch locations, and invites fellow VT industry members to join the company in “putting the spotlight on these hardworking men and women.”
