AMERICAN COUNCIL OF ENGINEERING COMPANIES (ACEC)
ACEC is the business association of America’s engineering industry, representing independent engineering companies throughout the United States engaged in the study, design and development of environmental, water resources, industrial, transportation and other programs throughout the world. Headquartered in Washington, DC, ACEC is a national federation of 51 state and regional organizations.
AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF BUILDING DESIGN (AIBD)
The AIBD is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to the development, recognition and enhancement of the profession of residential building design.
AMERICAN IRON AND STEEL INSTITUTE (AISI)
AISI’s overall mission centers around common goals and a clear vision for the future: to provide high-quality, value-added products to a wide array of customers; to lead the world in innovation and technology in the production of steel; to produce steel in a safe and environmentally friendly manner; and to increase the market for North American steel in both traditional and innovative applications.
AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTE (ANSI)
ANSI is a nonprofit, privately funded membership organization that coordinates the development of U.S. voluntary national standards and is the U.S. member body to the non-treaty international standards bodies such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and through the U.S. National Committee, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
AMERICAN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION (APTA)
APTA has over 1,600 members representing transit systems that carry 96% of North American riders by bus and rail, and private firms doing business with transit industry: manufacturers, suppliers, builders and consultants. APTA is a cooperative, nonprofit association.
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS (ASME)/A17 COMMITTEE
The ASME A17 Elevator and Escalator Committee develops safety codes and standards for elevators, escalators and related equipment. ASME also develops other codes and standards, publishes technical journals and conducts educational programs in the mechanical engineering field.
AMERICAN TORT REFORM ASSOCIATION (ATRA)
ATRA, a national advocate for state and federal tort reform, has nearly 300 member organizations including nonprofits, professional societies, trade associations, large corporations and small businesses. ATRA’s mission is to bring greater efficiency, fairness and predictability to the civil justice system through public education and the enactment of state legislation.
BUILDING OWNERS AND MANAGERS ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL (BOMA INTERNATIONAL)
Founded in 1907, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International is an international federation of more than 90 local associations and affiliated organizations. BOMA’s 19,000-plus members own or manage more than 9 billion square feet of commercial properties in North America and abroad. The mission of BOMA International is to enhance the human, intellectual and physical assets of the commercial real estate industry.
ELEVATOR CONFERENCE OF NEW YORK (ECNY)
ECNY was organized by elevator industry professionals to improve education, promote safety and enhance code compliance through better communication. Our purpose is to improve the flow of information among tradesmen in the field of vertical transportation. ECNY is open to all active elevator professionals.
INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS, INC. (IEEE)
The IEEE produces a large portion of the world’s literature in the electrical and electronics engineering and control technology fields, and has developed more than 900 active consensus standards. The organization also sponsors or cosponsors more than 300 international technical conferences each year.
