Man in Japan Dies When Head Gets Stuck in Elevator Door

A 55-year-old man employed by an automotive factory in Osaka, Japan, died at work as a result of his head becoming stuck in an elevator door on August 21, Japan Today is among outlets to report. Police said a fellow employee at the factory in Suminoe Ward called the emergency number, but by the time paramedics arrived, the man had gone into cardiac arrest. He was transported to a hospital and confirmed dead approximately an hour later. According to police, the man was on the fourth floor of the factory loading auto parts into a 1.2-m-X-1.5-m commercial elevator when the fatal incident occurred. It is unclear how the victim’s head became stuck in the elevator door.
