Twin-Tower Project Approved for Sydney’s CBD

Following the Sydney Planning Committee’s approval, a twin-tower, 80-story skyscraper project on Pitt Street comprising 592 apartments and a hotel is expected to transform the Sydney CBD’s skyline, The Urban Developer reports. Private developer Han Group is behind the AUD727-million (US$556-million) project spanning eight sites in Sydney. The development application calls for site demolition and construction of the towers. In addition to the apartments, the project will include 158 hotel rooms, retail uses and five levels of basement car parking. City of Sydney councilors unanimously voted in favor of the project at their planning meeting in March.
