Otis Inaugural CSR Program Sparks Student Interest in Stem

Otis recently announced winners of its inaugural corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, Made to Move CommunitiesTM Global Student Challenge, in which student teams in nine countries worked virtually with Otis mentors to use science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills to devise sustainable solutions to mobility problems. Student teams from 14 schools in Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, Spain, the U.S. and Singapore proposed solutions aimed at improving mobility for elderly people and making cities more bicycle-friendly. First place winners were, Americas, Bloomfield High School, Connecticut; Europe, Middle East and Africa, Romain Rolland Gymnasium, Berlin; Asia Pacific, ELCHK Yuen Long Lutheran Secondary School; and China, Beijing Institute of Technology.
