A developer group has applied to build the Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences at 300 Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami, Florida YIMBY reports. At 1,049 ft, the mixed-use tower, if approved, will be the first supertall in Miami. The filing lists NYC and Miami-based Property Markets Group as the applicant, along with Canada-based Greybrook Realty Partners. Keller North America is listed as the contractor. Sieger Suarez Architects, in collaboration with Carlos Ott, is listed as designer. New renderings, by ArX Solutions, were recently revealed in the project’s filing, which received approvals from the city. The building, around 100 stories, will be composed of nine stacked offset glass cubes arranged at various angles. Plans call for about 1.6 million ft2 spread across 461 residential units, 205 hotel rooms, high-end amenities and 1,321 ft2 for commercial uses. A 431,862-ft2 parking garage is planned adjacent to the tower and will have space for 694 cars. Work is expected to begin this year, with completion in 2025.
