South Jersey Elevator’s Safety Standards Earn Recognition

South Jersey Elevator, headquartered in Blackwood, New Jersey, was among vertical-transportation companies that achieved high safety standards in the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) STEP Safety Management System, South Jersey announced in December. South Jersey achieved the STEP Diamond Level, meaning the company is 655% safer than the industry average. STEP participants’ safety processes and policies are evaluated on key components through a detailed questionnaire. Companies receive a recognition level of Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Participant based on their score. Delaware Elevator, Inc., headquartered in Salisbury, Maryland, also achieved Diamond level and rack-and-pinion construction hoist company McDonough Elevator Sales and Rentals, headquartered in Houston, achieved Platinum, meaning it is 242% safer than the industry average.
